• Due to Covid-19 we are no longer able to offer our buffet style BBQ lunch. We will be providing a picnic lunch instead.

• There is an option to include a packed picnic lunch. The default choice is chicken, however you can request to change to a beef or vegetarian lunch until 5pm the day prior.

• Most travelers can participate

• This tour/activity will have a maximum of 16 travelers

• For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.

• If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

• Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

• Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

• This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

• This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

This is a great tour for Milford Sound. Along the way to Milford Sound you’ll stop by a few easy sites where you can see some highlights of the National Park.Pros- Great tour guide (shoutout to Podge) that was very friendly and knowledgeable - Great transportation to Milford Sound (a Mercedes mini bus)- Seamlessly got us onto the Milford Sound cruise, which was great (we got to see the area along with seals and dolphins)Cons- None to speak of

Picked this tour up in Te Anau. Everyone else on the bus was from Queenstown. I think it may be better to do it yourself from Te Anau. You can stop where you want then. Milford sound was amazing. We stopped at 3 places for a few minutes on the way to the boat, and raced back on the way back. No stops.

The tour was well organized and our driver/guide was very knowledgeable, passing on lots of information during the drive. Being in a small group was definitely a big bonus compared to traveling in the big tour buses. The cruise was great, despite the weather. The whole experience was great. We were picked up and dropped off at Te Anuo so our drive time was a lot shorter than from Queenstown which was great especially on the way back

Nigel was an excellent guide. His commentary on the history and insights of the area, it’s geology and New Zealand in general was very informative. Milford Sound and the Fiordland National Park was absolutely amazing. The cruise around Milford sound was delightful and spectacular. The lunch was a very tasty surprise!

This trip was exceptional. We had a small group with a guide called Graham. There are not enough superlatives to describe him. He was knowledgeable, witty, organised, friendly and chose great places to stop. We did the BBQ tour and lunch was outstanding. Obviously, the weather was in our favour, with complete sunshine and shorts the order of the day. Milford Sound was breathtaking, and the boat was not too crowded. Getting picked up from Te Anu was easy and communication prompt. I highly recommend this trip it will be one to remember.

It was an amazing trip. The drivers was so funny and interesting. You really felt you were taken care of. So impressed. I would never book any other tour except with Viator as the three tours I took in NZ and the 1 in Australia last year were so great. Good job Viator for picking great people to deliver your tours.

We have a smooth ride from Te Anua to Milford Sound. The driver-cum-guide provided us with useful commentaries on interesting scenic spots along the way. It was a memorable experience. The BBQ lunch was superb. It was marvellous that our guide could whip up so much goodies within a short time. The weather had also been kind to us and we had a wonderful time on the top deck of the cruise ship - taking in nature's wonders, enjoying the sights around us and breathing in the crisp, fresh air. Our decision to sign for this tour has proven to be a good one.

This was a great day trip, even though the weather (typically for Fiordland) was damp and rainy. Nick produced a great barbecue at a time when the rain had stopped, and the whole day went very well. The rain made Milford Sound very dramatic, and the waterfalls were amazing. We met some keas at the Homer Tunnel, and also a weka. I would heartily recommend this BBQ Bus tour.

What a great day. Chris the driver was excellent. Stopped en route at great places to take pictures.and gave an excellent commentary on history and local facts. BBQ was fantastic and he even supplied sun bloc and insect repellent if required. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

excellent day.the bbq bus is a great idea and the bus driver/guide/cook are very versatile.plenty of information about the area and loads of ppictures stops.we were blessed with the weather it had been raining for almost a week before our trip and the day we went it was just perfect.the mirror lakes are stunning as was milford sound.make sure to keep plenty of room on sim card in camera and batteries for it as almost the entire journey is a photograhers delight.the cruise is an excellent way to see all of milford sound.i would def recommend this to anyone who is interested in seeing milford.

Smaller bus able to stop more frequently for photo ops also access an area that a large coach cannot. Loved the commentary, very informative without being excessive or patronising. Fab cruise as always. Perfect timing for pick up and drop off. A friendly more intimate way to do Milford.

What a great day, Chris our driver was informative, knowledgeable and funny, everything you need in a driver. Oh and did I mention he is a great chef, the BBQ was delicious, even the possum snags, yeh good one Chris. A big day for Chris, but he made our day memorable. Being on a smaller bus meant we stopped at places the coaches couldn't, which meant more photo opportunities, If you get the chance,do it !
