- University of the Incarnate WordSan Antonio, TX•4 Year•Rating 3.79 out of 5 1,834 reviewsSophomore: UIW is an excellent choice for anybody looking for small classes and a small campus. There are many resources and opportunities for every student on campus. The advisors and professors all help you work towards a collective goal. My first year there was spent in the Starbucks or the library in between classes, but they have a lot of restaurants around the block. Overall I have loved my time there; the only thing I wish could change the food choices on the campus. It was really hard to find a good breakfast or lunch that wasn't chick fil a or Starbucks. The campus could really use another or new food addition. Also, the library needs booths to be more comfortable while studying. Other than that, I have been really happy here.... I found the experience to be wonderful. I had the opportunity to earn Character With Distinction when I graduated. Also, the Hallmark Consulting Group was fantastic for training us with real-life experience. I recommend Hallmark University to any adult needing an accelerated degree. - Ursuline CollegePepper Pike, OH•4 Year•Rating 3.73 out of 5 309 reviewsSenior: Ursuline College is a small individual-oriented school. There are small class sizes and their nursing program is direct admit. The campus has a beautiful lake in the middle and feels very fresh. However, there are limited professors and usually only one professor for each class and one class time for each class. Also, if you are not a nursing major some of the required classes may not even be offered at Ursuline. I hope to see change with increased class times and a variety of professors.... - Texas Lutheran UniversitySeguin, TX•4 Year•Rating 3.71 out of 5 527 reviewsAlum: I attended TLU from 2015-2019. I majored in Kinesiology (Teaching/Coaching specialization) and ran on the cross country and track teams. I loved the small class size setting, as it allowed for more personal instruction. I felt like the professors viewed me as a person, and not a number. My professors were kind and caring and let me know they were there for me if I needed any help academically. Although I grew up almost 6 hours away from TLU and didn’t know anyone coming in as a freshman, I instantly connected with other people on the cross country/track teams. Friendships were formed immediately that still continue to this day! My teammates became my second family. Overall I’d rate my experience at TLU as a 10/10!... - San Antonio CollegeSan Antonio, TX•2 Year•Rating 3.85 out of 5 1,828 reviewsSophomore: I enjoy the school’s music program wanting to push students to be better musicians. What I would like to see change in San Antonio College’s music program, is professors letting students have more freedom when it comes to choosing which educational path students want for themselves, rather than professors only giving students a limited amount of options when it comes to transferring to a four-year university. Another thing I’d like to see change in San Antonio College’s music program, is the music program to encourage students to be more innovative when it comes to creativity, rather than always relying on creative methods composers such as Bach and Beethoven came up with.... Even transitioning during the pandemic was very smooth. The professors were always nice to every student and always helping with resources. There were always activities to participate in outside of school, and there were always people ready to work with you to help you achieve any goal. - St. Philip's CollegeSan Antonio, TX•2 Year•Rating 3.84 out of 5 788 reviewsFreshman: There’s many thing to love to about St. Philip’s College! From the people, experience, studies, student life, and outside of St. Philip’s Campus. There is many people from many cultures and places that is meant to be for everyone. The studies aren’t as wide but are for those who need a degree in a year or two to work. Including the great opportunities like CNA, Cyber security, and mechanic jobs. Including possible certification after the degree plan. The student life page and alerts provide great details about events that will take place in campus, zoom, and other opportunities for college or jobs. My most favorite event is culture feast which is full of foods, people from the college or around town, and can be a called a small San Antonio experience in one place. The outside of Antonio is great when there is downtime. The San Antonio river walk with many attractions, shops, and restaurants to try.... - ECPI UniversityVirginia Beach, VA•4 Year•Rating 4.04 out of 5 1,287 reviewsAlum: The program I was in was an advanced one. It was fast paced and very hands on! The amount that I was able to get out of the curriculum was highly dependent upon what I was able to accomplish on my own time as well as class time. Success was not a sole responsibility, but also that of others (a team effort). After the coursework was complete, it felt like a push to find employment regardless of employment status. Once a new job was located, all communication ceased. Not a big fan of this aspect because there are plenty of questions to be answered for services that are still offered to graduates of the school.... - The University of Virginia's College at WiseWise, VA•4 Year•Rating 3.57 out of 5 244 reviewsJunior: Academically, the college lacks consistency. Certain programs, such as general education requirements, lack substantial teaching and learning. However, other areas of academics, for example, Biology, are vast and difficult. This disconnect in academics negatively effects my peers and I’s ability to preform consistently academically as-well. The smaller size of campus and student body aids to facilitate a familial and belonging feeling. Despite the low number of students, social events are happening frequently to foster community. I have learned factually, socially, and internally with my time at UVA-Wise, so overall the experience has been beneficial. Issues with the school would include a lack of diversity, small local community outside the campus, and fluctuations in academics. However, with adversity comes resilience and ability to foster change....
